Seattle Day 16
Radiation Day 10
Today started off better than yesterday. First, we woke up much earlier which meant that we were not rushed to get out the door. That always makes the morning a little smoother when you are not playing Nascar to get to your destination. It seems that Aidan is indeed getting into a routine. This morning when he asked where we were going and we told him radiation he was like "OK" and that was that.
Off to radiation we go. I actually got to drive today because Michael forgot his wallet upstairs. It was kind of nice to be behind the wheel again. Once at radiation things went OK. Aidan was being extremely goofy and talkative when we got back in the radiation room. He was telling stories about being at the beach and what he wants to do back in the Tri Cities. Everyone was having a giggle listening to him. In fact Aidan wasn't even worked up about getting sleepy medicine.
Recovery room was fine until Aidan woke up. Once again he woke up in a very disagreeable mood even though today he actually slept for much longer. We had to pull teeth to get him out to the van and then the whole way he was grumpy.
We had to run some errands so we decided that we would go up to the Alderwood Mall area hoping that the long drive would allow Aidan a chance to go back to sleep. Of course not luck. He was wide awake the whole way. By this time it is pouring down rain and the weather had seemed to put us all into a much fowler mood. Nothing was making Aidan happy and Sage had about enough of listening to Aidan throw a fit along with Michael and myself.
After a couple of minutes of serious talking (and a little yelling I must admit) things were much better in the Zaugg van. After the peace came we decided that we would make a surprise drop in to Emily, Michael's mother, since we were not too far away. This made both the boys very happy that they were going to get to see Grammy!
We had a wonderful time up at Emily and Ned's. The boys were able to play with some toys and visit with Grammy while Michael and I made them some lunch and then we all sat down to watch a movie. Even though we had discussed just dropping by for half an hour time went much quicker than we expected and next thing we knew it was two and we needed to get on the road so the boys would have some time to rest before the big game tonight.
We were hoping again that Aidan would fall asleep on the way back but it was Sage who slept not Aidan. Once back in the room we turned all the lights off and put the sound machine on. It took a while but Aidan finally fell asleep at about three fifteen and then slept until around five. We were very happy that he got a much needed nap.
After he awoke we quickly got ourselves ready and headed out the door to the M's game. Traffic was a little backed up but we managed to arrive within a decent amount of time. Our first stop was the team store where the boys each were allowed to pick up an item. Sage got a baseball and Aidan picked our a little bat. Next it was off to our seats. Oh, and was great seats they were. We were on the hundred level in row 24. It was directly behind the third base dugout and my seat was lined up perpendicularly to the pitching mound. They were so great that we could hear to sound of the balls hitting the gloves as they were being caught. Thank you again to the radiation team for an amazing gift!
While at the game we had such a wonderful time. All five seats in front of and behind us were empty which allowed us room to spread out a bit. As to be expected, we enjoyed all the great snacks of a baseball game plus a couple extra that are only found at Safeco Field.
Aidan was having a great time but he kept on saying "Mama I want to go to the Tri Cites and go to my house." We have found lately that this especially happens when he is very tired. He also told me that he wants to be ten like Sage and that he wants to be an astronaut. I guess he thinks that ten is the magic age to do everything including going into outer space.
We stuck it out until the eighth inning and then we packed it up and headed back to the house. I am glad that we left when we did because Aidan was extremely tired, he had some drool and was stumbling quite a bit. We will have to make sure that we take it extra easy tomorrow and Thursday so he can have some energy when his Uncle Anthony, Aunt Angela, Brody, Cutter, Chloe, and Lucy come up from Phoenix on Friday.
Good night.

Tanya and Mike,
Your strength and positive attitude is amazing to me! I can't imagine what it feels to walk in your shoes but you seem to be doing an incredible job! I pray for your family daily, hoping for the miracle that can happen.
Just wanted to send a note that Shelby Lynn is saying very positive prayers for all of you as well as the rest of is here in San Diego. We think of you often and we love you all very much.
