Seattle Day 22

Happy Memorial Day
This morning we all woke up early so we could meet Anthony, Angela, and the kids for breakfast before they headed down to Chris and Heidi's to see their new house. Aidan woke up a bit grumpy since he was woke up instead of waking on his own, but he wasn't too bad. Sage was thrilled that we were going to be meeting his cousins, especially since we were meeting them at the University Village where there is a Barnes and Noble.
Things were working out great timewise with meeting up with the family at the restaurant, that was, until the battery in Mom's new bug was dead. Plans change. We switched cars and finally got to Atlas (the restaurant) to meet them for breakfast.
As you can imagine, when you are trying to seat 12 people, six of them being kids, it can be a bit hectic. The table was a bit small for that many people, but we all squeezed in and sat down for a fun and good breakfast. Somehow we managed to have an entire breakfast without any major disasters or spill, we were all very proud of the kids.
After breakfast we headed outside to a little play area so the kids could play for a bit before Anthony and Angela had to leave. Of course, Sage asked to go to Barnes and Nobel's with his cousins. Dad hates shopping but he graciously agreed to take the boys to look at books while we watched the little ones play. As to be expected, Sage came out with a book although it was not the one he originally went in for.
Soon, Anthony, Angela, and the kids had to head out for Chris and Heidi's and we headed back to the house. Once we got back to the house you could tell that Dad was itching to get on the road and go but he was patient with us and let us hang out with Sage for quite a while longer. While hanging, we watched a show on the top 10 water parks in the US. While watching they featured Blizzard Beach at Walt Disney World. Aidan decided that he had to go there with his brother. So we told him that Disney World could be his Make-a-Wish trip. We were relieved since the first time we asked him what he would want or where he would want to go he informed us that he wanted to go to Target and get a big cookie. We feel he might enjoy Walt Disney World a bit more.
After watching two more shows Dad said it was time to pack it up and head back to the Tri Cites. This was an especially hard goodbye for me. All of my stress, lack of sleep, and sadness crept up on me and came out as lots of crying. It just isn't fair that we have to say goodbye to our boy every Sunday, or that he has to say goodbye to us. It isn't fair that we have to stay here for treatment for some awful disease that no child should ever have to have! And it isn't fair that Aidan or Sage has to be without each other.
Quick Story:
On our drive back from dinner last night the boys were riding in the back of the bug together. Aidan says to Sage, "Sage, someday when I get big like you and you get big we are going to be best buddies, huh?"
Sage replies, "Aidan, we are best buddies now and we will be best buddies forever."
To this Aidan replied with a nice slug in Sage's arm. You have to love brothers.
After Sage left we all sat around quite bummed out watching TV and doing nothing. Next thing I know I wake up and Mike is asleep and the TV is still on and guess who is still awake. That's right. There's Aidan sitting up watching Mickey Mouse and Pluto as Michael and I snooze away. I had to turn the TV off and convince him to get some sleep then I headed over to the computer to give you all an update. And now it is my time for bed.
Love,
Tanya
