Seattle Day 35
June 11, 2006
As to be expected, Michael was the first one up and was off studying before any of us had even awoken. Soon the rest of us followed and quickly got ready so we could head out for the day. We grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to the Zoo. The sun was shining and the sky was blue, the perfect day for the Zoo. Apparently, every other person in Seattle felt the same way. We spent almost a half an hour looking for parking before we finally decided to figure out something else to do. After some debate we decided to grab a ferry over to Kingston where we could then hang out for a little while before we headed back home.
The ferry leaves from Edmonds and we were able to get there right as the last one left so we were one of the first in line with time to grab a quick drink and go potty before we got on the boat. The ferry ride was really enjoyable since it was such a sunny beautiful day. I was in the bug with Mom and we had the top down all day. Aidan liked the boat but he did not enjoy being out on the deck. I think it was because it was too high up for him. Once we were in Kingston we saw a sign that said 10 miles to the Historic Port Gable Museum. Since we had nothing else to do we decided to head that direction. What luck we did. It was a beautiful little town. It reminded me of the town in Pollyanna. It was like nothing had changed in the town for over 100 years. To add to our luck they were celebrating Mill Days and they had a small carnival and fair. Of course the boys were more than happy to take part and we enjoyed just milling around such a wonderful place.
After a few hours we decided it was time to head back since it was getting late and a storm was coming in. Unfortunately for us it seemed that most everyone in and around Kingston had the same thought so we had an hour wait at the ferries.
Finally we arrived back in Edmonds and headed back to home. Luckily for us, Mom and Dad decided to stick it out another day since it was getting so late and to help us with the boys.
Once again Aidan had a great day. His energy is up by a lot and his walking seems to improve daily. You can also see that he has very little facial droop anymore. Thank you all for being part in the miracle that is happening! Please continue praying, what may have slipped from your mind is our daily reality. We truly need your prayers, they are what keep us going. Thank you and we love you so very much.
