Seattle Day 36

Radiation Day 23

Before I write about today I just wanted to take a quick moment to apologize to all of you who have been worried and waiting for me to update the blog.  Last week was just such a crazy week between going in at a much earlier time, doctor appointments, and Michael being busy with schooling stuff.  Know that Aidan is doing very well and we think of you all often.  Sometimes however, I am just incredibly tired and all I want to do is go to bed and not write in the blog.  I will try to at least not go a whole week without writing though.

Another early Monday getting Aidan ready to be accessed.  Thankfully, Mom and Dad were here this morning so Sage was able to stay here and sleep.  On top of that, it meant that he did not have to come and watch Aidan get his catheter in since he still gets a little scared and cries when it happens.  Once again though Aidan was a champ and very brave when he was accessed.  There were some tears, but all and all he did great.  He sat very still and didn't complain.  As soon as he was done he asked for his gold medal.  He was very proud to announce that he now has three.
Once again Aidan slept a lot.  Today he slept for two hours and forty five minutes.  I was holding him so Michael could spend some more time studying and I had some serious tired bum.  I had to get up for two potty breaks during his nap.  We were glad to see him get some good rest though.  While he was sleeping you could see how much hair he has lost.  His pillow was covered in his hair and when I lifted up his hair by the area where the hair is gone I could see that the hair loss is even further up than it appears.
After he woke up we headed back to the house to meet up with Mom, Dad, and Sage and to clean out the van of all the things they brought up with them.  Once again some more gifts were found.  Aidan received a signed football, shirt, and miniature helmet from the Tri City Fever.  It was a very nice gift.
After getting everything in order we all headed out to go and see Disney's Cars before Mom and Dad left town.  We went to the new theater in Bellevue which is very nice.  They have leather padded seats that rock and huge amount of leg room.  We were all very impressed with it.  The movie was a lot of fun also.  When it ended Aidan decided to spend the next hour being a car and racing everyone.  It is truly awesome to see him have so much energy and being able to do things that he has not been able to do for weeks or even months.
Once again we had to say goodbye to Mom and Dad which always makes me sad since it seems to always smack me back into reality that life is not normal and we are dealing with a very nasty disease.  When Mom and Dad left the boys and I headed back to the house.

Rest assured that you are not far from our thoughts throughout the day. We still pray for you in the morning and before bedtime. It is so good that the doctors are "encouraged" by how Aidan is doing. We know that God is working and are thanking Him for it.

Hi Tanya, We've been reading your blogs, thank you for keeping us in the loop as we all pray for the best recovery for Aidan. I just wanted to let you know that Sage and my daughter Nicole are in the same class next year with Mrs. Harting (3yrs now out of 6). Since you are not here, I thought that I would let you know that I have heard good things about Mrs. Harting. If you remember Stephen Mather (1st grade in Mrs Flanagan's class), his older brother had Mrs. Harting and his Mom had only good things to say about her. She prepares them well for middle school with accountability and such. So I am happy with their placement for 5th grade (although all the 5th grade teachers appear to be just great), and I look forward to seeing you around in the class (or at least at the parties) next school year! I thought that might ease your mind a bit about school!
    Sincerely, Annamaria & family
P.S. Nicole says "hello" to Sage!

      Anamaria,

Thank you so much for the update on school and teachers.  I definitely felt out of the loop on the information since I have not been able to be there to hear the scoop.  I am glad to hear that Sage and Nicole are in class again together.  It always makes a school year a bit smoother when there are people that you know well in class with you.  Thank you for everything.

Tell Nicole that Sage says "hello" back
