Seattle Day 41

June 17, 2006

Well today started with well laid plans however, in the end, things did not go exactly as was expected.  Michael had set it up to have his parents, his sister Hedi, her husband Chris, their three girls, Lance, De, theire two girls, Mom, Dad, and the four of us all go to the Science Center and then to an IMAX 3D movie together.  However, in the end it ended up only being Mom, Dad, and the four of us.
Before we headed out to the Science Center we had lunch and watched the first half of the U.S. vs Italy World Cup Match.  After getting frustrated with the refereeing, we decided to head down town to start the day.  As soon as we got there the boys wanted to head over to the Game On exhibit.  Once again we had a great time playing classic video games but the time went too quickly and it was time to head over to the IMAX theater to get some popcorn, soda, and grab our seats.
Aidan was obsessed with the 3D glasses from the get go.  He kept telling each of us that we had to put our glasses on even if the show had not started.  As soon as the lights dimmed we were ordered to "put on your glasses."  Even the previews were in 3D so as soon as they started both Mike and I turned to Aidan to see what he thought of it.  We had quite the giggle as we watched him put the glasses on, watch for a few moments, take the glasses off, look at the screen, check out the glasses, put them back on, watch for a few more moments and then repeat the process about five times.  By the time the actual movie started he was ready and truly enjoying it.  After the movie we all agreed that it was the best 3D movie we had ever seen.  The images were beautiful, we all learned something, and it was entertaining.
After IMAZ Mike, Sage and Aidan ran through blow up obsticle course they had set up outside.  Then Mike and Sage headed back over to Game On while Mom, Dad, Aidan and myself headed back over to the main buliding.  Once over there we discovered that they were showing free Lazer shows because of Father's Day and one was about to start.  So, we gave Mike and Sage a call and they met us to watch the Lazer Show.  The boys enjoyed the lazers, but the music was much too loud for them and Mike ended up taking them out half way through the show.
After the Laze Show Mike and Sage once again headed over to Game On and Dad, Mom, Aidan and I wandered through the rest of the center for about forty five minutes before Mike called and it was time to go. On the way to meet up with Lance and De we stopped by Target so Mom and I could grab some Father's Day cards and pick up a autograph mat for all of Aidan's Gaurdian Angels from the University to sign before his last day.
Finally we met up with Lance and his family and grabbed a bite to eat before we headed back to their hotel so the boys could go for a swim.  Both the boys, I should say alll three of the boys, were beaming.  It was our first swim of the season and they were having a ball doing it.  Even Dad got in the pool to play with all of his grandkids.
We finally headed back to the hotel around eleven thirty with two very tired little boys.  The good news though is that Aidan's energy is so great that he was able to do all of these activites  whereas before he would have been tired after the movie.  Another plus, even when he got tired his symptoms did not increase.  It used to be that as soon as he would get tired his walking would get worse, his face would droop more, and he would begin to drool.  Not anymore though.  Now when he gets tired it is just tired and nothing else.

Good Night

Sounds like you had a very wonderful day! It is so good to know that fatigue is not causing an increase of symptoms. We are so glad that Aidan is able to enjoy everything right along with you in ways he hasn't in quite some time. You are in our prayers.
