Friday July 28

Aidan was up nice and early this morning even though Sage, Mike and I stayed up much too late last night watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  The three of us had no desire to get up, but Aidan was determined to be up and about.  Finally the rest of us followed suit and reluctantly got moving.  We moved, but not very quickly.  It was 1:30 before we actually got out the door.  We had promised Mike that we would spend today celebrating his birthday since Wednesday was shot by they time they got back to the room and Aidan woke up from his nap.  Mike decided that he would like to eat at The Cheesecake Factory for his birthday meal and then go and see Ant Boy at Lincoln Center.
Bellevue was abuzz today with people checking out the Arts Festival that was happening downtown.  Considering how busy it was down there we only had to wait about fifteen minutes for our table.  Unbeknownst to us at the moment, we had the luck of being sat at a table next to an amazing family.  As we sat down and began to look over our menus and place our orders we engaged in some chit chat with the Gonzales family.  Soon our chit chat turned to conversation and we began to share our stories with each other.  They were in Bellevue from Monroe to celebrate Tito's 43 birthday.  With him was his wife Kerrie, daughter Ally (10), and son Niko (7).  We learned of their recent adventure up in Whistler, we told them how Christina lives up there and of how we miss her so.  We shared with them Aidan's story and found out that Ally had donated her hair to Locks of Love.  We thanked her on behalf of all the children who loose their hair and are blessed by a wig from generous people like herself.  Soon, lunch became secondary and conversation became foremost.  We spent an amazing time with them sharing our lives.  We even made plans to go to Monroe to their Fair with them.
As the meals and conversation wrapped up both families began to get ready to head out for the rest of the days plans when they blessed us by picking up our tab.  Now, remember, we just met them.  They have no obligation or reason to do this except for the kindness that exudes from them.  They told us that they felt blessed to meet us, when in actuality, we are the one who are blessed to meet them.  Indeed, we hope that this encounter, which some may call chance, will find a way to turn itself into a friendship.  As far as Michael and I are concerned, it was not mer chance, but a plan that was put into motion by the Lord himself.  Thank you Tito, Kerri, Ally, and Niko, you are all truly extraordinary.
After lunch the Zaugg family walked over to the Lincoln Center Theater with full hearts to watch our movie.  It is always a joy to watch the boys as they enjoy a movie and belly laugh over the silly scenes.  When the movie was over we headed back over to the house to get ready for bed and to try and watch the end of the movie we fell asleep to last night.  We pray that this finds you all happy and healthy.

hi tonya and family, it is us the Gonzalez family. sorry it took so long to get back to you. i have had all of you on my mind daily. Alyson is on a mission she has spoke to her soccer team and is alrealy setting up fundraiser for Aidan. Your story has touched our family and friends. They are all growing their hair for locks of love and have been on the website daily. As for us we are looking into the days for the MOnster Trucks and hoping and praying you can join us. We feel so blessed to have met all of you and can't stop thinking about what a speical birthday Tito had by meeting all of you. Tell Sage i walked by the Discovery store and thought of him. Tito also won a little at the casino so that was fun. i was wondering if possible if i could purchase some braclets and pictures for the soccer team they are so excited and are thinking of doing "kicks for Aidan" what do you think of that. If you get a chance email me and i we can try to set up the MOnster Trucks. Love to you and your family from ours. Kerrie, Tito , Aly, Nico.

      Kerrie,

It is our family who is blessed to have met the four of you.  Just as we have been on your minds, the four of you have been on ours.  We continue to tell people of your generosity and our hopes to visit with you once again.  Let me know how many bracelets you would be interested in and I will make sure that we are able to get them to you.  We love the idea of a "kicks for Aidan" fund raiser.  If we are in town maybe we could even let Aidan make an appearance.  If you want to e-mail me at zauggfamily@whynotaidan.com with the bracelet info and a contact number I will call to set things up. Unlike the comment section here, a email is private so your info will not be posted on the site.  Love to all of you.
