Wednesday August 16
Shock of all shocks, I was the first one up this morning. Then even more surprising, I actually got up and got in the shower instead of going back to sleep. I must not be feeling good or something. It was kind of nice to be able to get showered and ready without being in a big rush. I might try and remember that tomorrow.
By the time I emerged from the bathroom, my family was all awake and goofing around. I love hearing my kids laughing and playing with their dad. What a great way to start the day.
Of course, the boys complained of hunger almost immediately. Go figure, when you last eat at nine and then don't wake up until ten the next morning you are bound to be starving. In fact, Aidan said, "Momma, I am starving! Look I am getting skinny." We all had a good laugh with that one. My awesome husband said that he would take care of food for breakfast. I thought he was just going to run downstairs to grab some breakfast but next thing I know, I get a call from him telling me to meet him in the kitchen because he is just getting back from the grocery store and he is going to make breakfast.
When we got downstairs, we were greeted with ham, cheese and egg sandwich and fresh cantaloupe. It was so yummy! After breakfast the boys decided to head to the park to hit some baseballs while I stayed at the room to do some cleaning. I rushed to get things done but before I knew it the boys were back. Not that I was complaining because I missed them even though they were not gone long.
Dinner tonight was at the house and we shared out table with Jazmin, Patty and Carlos. After dinner the seven of us moved over to another table were we all hung out and snacked on homemade tortillas, beans, cheese and jalepenos. We ended up hanging out downstairs for almost three hours laughing and giving each other a hard time. The kids spent the time playing and taking lots of pictures with their parent's cameras. We were also lucky to be joined for a short while by Laurie, Candy and Candy's sister. It was a great evening spent with some wonderful friends.
Once back up in the room Aidan was quite ready for bed after such a busy evening. We managed to keep him up long enough to take a shower and his Iressa before it was off to sleep he went. And now I am off to hang out with my husband and son to watch Mythbusters. Good night all.
