Hello. Things have been very busy at the Zaugg house since the last posting. My brother and his family moved out last Saturday (16th) which meant that it was time for us to start to get our things moved in and unpacked and to start getting everything cleaned. We started, but it only lasted one day before we received the phone call from the guys that were going to do our new floor (we had to get rid of the carpet because of how dirty and germy it was because of Aidan's suppressed immune system.) They told us that they would be starting in two days. Mike and I frantically started to pack up all of our stuff and move it into the garage. Luckily for me we were about to get help from another angel. Mike's buddy Jeff was in town and he came to our rescue. For the next three days we pulled up carpet and linoleum and removed tile. Not to mention, we repaired holes, painted and replaced sub floor. All, I might add, thanks to the help from Jeff and Mom for taking the boys overnight both nights and Aunt Debbie and Uncle Sid for loaning us their Bronco. Basically, we have not been to bed before 2:30 am for the last week.
Now that we are done with the prep, the floor guys are in there doing their thing. The only bad part is that we have no stove, fridge or toilet downstairs. Both of our boys have been so great during this time though. They have been very patient with their very busy parents. I think they are very excited about getting the new floors also. As soon as the first tiles were laid they couldn't wait to get on them. We told them they would have to wait until the next day before they could get on them. So, first thing the next morning guess were the boys were? Sitting down on the patch of tile playing Yugio.
On top of all of this, my Aunt Mindy flew in from Vegas for a surprise visit and we are trying to get ready for the Ronald McDonald House black tie fund raiser that I am speaking at. It is next Saturday (30th) and I don't have a dress and Mike doesn't have a Tux. Let's just say that I need to pick up the pace a bit to get everything done.
Most importantly, Aidan is doing great! He started back at preschool last week and he is loving it. In fact, he asked me why he couldn't go to school everyday? I think that says a lot about Sylvia (his teacher) and the kids under her care.
I will keep updating whenever I get the chance. Each of you mean so very much to us and we want to be able to keep you posted on Aidan and his progress.
Thank you,
Tanya

Tanya- So good to see another posting. I have been busy too so I appreciate the time it takes to write updates.
Please do me a favor. Please if you get a chance at the RMH fundraiser, Please mention the families who get a rare chance to bond with each other.
It is like we have all been put together for a reason, for a short time
as if to heal from the devastating news that we have all heard about our child's diagnosis. We all are inter- connected without language as a barrier.
The other night when Patty called she said, after we had been on the phone for an hour, do you realize we are speaking to each other without using our hands ? We are understanding what we are both saying ! I then told her I had asked GOD to PLEASE help me understand Spanish better so I could talk to my friend Patty. We both laughed !!We talked about you too and how the Neapolotins were not the same without our "strawberry" flavor.
I am glad Aidan is enjoying school. Sage also seems to be fitting right back into the groove of things.
Candy is up here for her 40th birthday week. She picked me up from my work yesterday and we went for coffee. It was strange to have her drive me around for a change !
Our local Chugiak High football team dedicated a very important game last night to # 9, Caz Forbus, who could not be there because of being in Seallte fighting cancer. They made that announcement before the game started. Lots of Caz's team members were wearing #9 somewhere on their uniforms, how cool !
Tom was not able to go to the game since our Church youth group had a Welcome Back Party in his honor at the same time. He had about 25 kids show up too. I had seen a group of cute girls from the high schools soccer team go over to Tom and rub his head !
Needless to say he feels like a ladies man now !
Hope all continues to go well for you guys !!
Love, Laurie
