October 2006 Update
From Nanni,
I am so angry with this disease. It has taken five (5) of our "BSG" children in just seven (7) weeks. Sometime I just cannot understand why we cannot find a cure for "BSG." And "BSG" is not the only type of brain cancer that keeps giving wings to our children. So sorry for the venting, but please keep praying for “that whomever is researching this cancer, that God lays his guiding hand on them and helps them find what will slow down or more so, cure this cancerous tumor.” Please pray with our family for peace and comfort for those families that have lost their child and also health and hope for those still fighting this ugly-ugly disease.
Now a brighter side of life. Aidan still is symptom free and going strong. As I type this he is on his way to Seattle for an MRI this afternoon. Please pray for tumor shrinkage or tumor disappearance.
Aidan and Sage spent the night with us over this last weekend. His papa and him told many "Once upon a time…" stories, Aidan is becoming quite finesse in his storytelling. I keep tell his papa that we should record his "Remember when…" and "Once upon a time…" stories for publishing. His papa and him love to hide from me or sneak up & scare me. It is so cute to see them both peaking behind objects and crawling on their hands and knees so secretly (although I do see them, I pretend I do not).
Aidan's hair is growing in on his triangular patch in the back of his head but his sidewalls are still hairless with a few small patches looking like they might start hair growth. Aidan has a gift of making each one of us to feel special. His gift to me is that he insist that he help me cook when he is around and that I also keep cookie dough in the frig for us to make cutout cookies each overnight visit (thank heaven for prepackaged refrigerated cookie dough from the store). He also insists on chocolate chip pancakes each morning; with him flipping them after they have enough bubbles. Aidan is so bright and witty; he is like a little boy with an old soul.
The family is settled in at home and welcomes visitor. Mike went back to work and was working in Pullman and the Tri-Cities, but he injured his knee at work and looks like he will need surgery, so he will be home again for a while (is this, the work of the Lord, to give him more family time?). Sage is in school and enjoying his friends he missed while in Seattle all summer. All the boys (Mike, Sage & Aidan), Jeff (Mike’s best friend) and Taylor (Sage's best friend) went to the Americans vs. Spokane hockey game and had a fantastic time recently; it did not hurt that the Americans won.
For those saying prayers for my Wallace family – Thank-you. Mom and Dad are still having a tough time with the loss of my brother, Bruce, in October. My brother Scott and sister Mindy are also having a tough time with the loss. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayer for peace and acceptance. Not to say that Mike and Patty are not heartbroken but they have come to peace and acceptance with God’s will. Thank-you.
Flat Stanley from San Diego is visiting us for a few months so he will become a member of our photo's. My niece, Shelby, and her class, read the book, "Flat Stanley" and sent their Stanley's on trips to stay with other families and gather local happening and history.
Peace be with you all. See our costumed boys below.
