Disneyland December 2006 Part 1

Update from Nanni and Papa,

I am going to break this update into three separate entries as not to overload your time.  First, I need to thank some very special people for helping make our Disneyland trip extraordinary.  Frank from Redneck Limo (509.
947.8588) gave us a very special ride in his limo from the Tri-Cities to Spokane in the wee hours of the morning to catch our plane which was leaving at 5:00am.  Aidan and the rest of us felt like royalty, is was a wonderful gift and gave us a few more hours of sleep before a busy day.  I also want to thank Tony from Limo Land in LA (714.381.5452) for putting us in their brand new Limo for our special trip from the airport to the Disneyland Hotel.  Aidan was fully awake for this ride and was squealing at all the palm trees outside and the cool lights in the limo.  Last I need to thank both Kyle in the “Disneyland – The First 50 Years” attraction for arranging our Lilly Belle Parlour Car ride and then a huge THANK-YOU to the Jedi Training Academy Team in Disneyland for making Aidan feel so special which I will detail more later.

Tuesday -- Good Morning Disneyland…Our first duty was to check-in to the hotel, eat breakfast and then take in the full day ahead of us.  Splash Mountain was a must do, Aidan and Mommy got soaked but it was worth it.  Aidan definitely loves fast rides.  His favorites turned out to be Thunder Mountain, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Soaring over California, Dumbo, Buzz Light Year, and Space Mountain.  We ate and ate Churros (Cinnamon and Sugar Pastry) and drank lots of Diet Coke.  Aidan puttered out about 7:00 pm; Papa and I took him back to the room for a hot bath and to watch the fireworks from our balcony view.  He had his chemo and then slumbered off to sleep.  It was a full day filled with wonders.

Wednesday -- Good Morning California Adventure…Jazz Kitchen for Beignets and milk for breakfast (Sage’s mouth was watering for them - sweet bread deep fat fried and dropped in a bag of powder sugar).  Our Disney Best Kept Secret (DBKS) is to buy a large soda from the Jazz Kitchen and return for free refills all day using the same cup.  In the afternoon, we head for California Adventure.  We rode the Grizzly River Run and we were drenched by the time it was done, we did not miss an opportunity for geysers to soak us.  We were laughing so hard we were crying.  It was a big highlight of the trip.  Needless to say, Aidan was not so thrilled by the cold water.  Since the radiation, treatment he has trouble staying warm and wears thermal underwear at all times.  We quickly change him as Mom, Dad and Sage took another river run.  Once changed, and a warm Churro in his belly, he was ready to explore again.  We rode a few more rides (Papa and Sage chickened out on the Tower of Terror at the last minute) and Aidan was able to ride Mulholland Madness and Golden Zephyr before the Block Party Parade.  The parade was awesome and Aidan danced and giggled to his hearts content.  It was another all day event.  Chet and I took Aidan back to the room for his bath and chemo, then off to slumber land.

Hello Zaugg Family!! I've been thinking about my little buddy Aidan quite a bit lately so I figured that it was about time I stopped by to say hi. It sounds like you had an amazing Disney trip. I can't believe how fearless Aidan is...the Tower of Terror scared the heck out of me!! :o)

I'm sending big hugs and many prayers from icy, chilly Michigan today. Take care and God bless.
