Hello everyone! This is Tanya.  First I have to apologize for our lack of communication.  Life has been extremely hectic but the main reason is that coming on here is very emotionally difficult for me these days.  While we were in Seattle we were actively fighting cancer and everyday I felt so sure that we were going to beat this dreaded disease.  Now that we are at home and in the "waiting" period I do not always feel so confident. There are many more days were we are very scared, unsure and lost.  Coming onto this site just seems to make this cancer feel even more real.  And for that reason I have avoided coming on here and I am sorry.

I know there are so many of you out there that continue to support us and look on here for updates on Aidan and we have not done our part.  But, the family has recently had a meeting and the plan is to get Aidan's name back out there.  He is doing so well, but he still has such a long hard battle ahead of him and we need to continue to spread the word about him and this disease so we can help to find a cure.  So please, bear with us.  Each of you are so very important to us because we feel your hope and prayers and on the days when it feels like there is no way we will make it is your prayers that carry us through. Thank You

Now onto the MRI.  Aidan had an MRI on January 19.  His original scan was scheduled for the 16th (my birthday). However because of the weather we only made it past Ellensburg before we had to turn around and go home because the pass was closed.  We lucked out, actually we had some angel's help, and they rescheduled us for three days later.  To Aidan's excitement Dr. Chen was scheduled to be his anesthesiologist.  He was thrilled since Dr. Chen hadn't been his doctor since radiation.  I have to admit, Mike and I were thrilled also.  It seriously eased a lot of our anxiety knowing that James would be with Aidan.

After the scan we headed upstairs to see Cori and get the news.  The following is from and email that my dad and Elizabeth G. sent out:

"The news from Aidan's Nurse Practitioner... "Stable", "No significant changes", "Enhancement from prior MRI has moved". According to everyone up at Children's this is very good news. The preliminary analysis of the enhancement relocation is the possibility that the prior enhancement was dying cells and they have now been purged, and the new enhancement may be additional cells going through the same process. We won't know the full details nor the Radiologist's take on the enhancement until the final report comes out."

"It seems as though we can take this news as encouragement that we remain on the right path and goods things are continuing to happen for Aidan. These results have given Tanya some degree of confidence and for that we can thank God. Our prayers appear to be in the process of being answered, even though not as quickly as anyone of us would like if we were given an option. The entire family is very thankful for your continuing prayers. Please keep it up."

When we were finally done with hospital "stuff" Mom and Dad Zaugg took all four of us out dinner to celebrate my birthday.  We had such a great time being with them and sharing in the exciting news. Then after dinner the four Zauggs packed up and headed back home.  We were going to stay the night but Aidan really just wanted to go home as did I.  It was time for us to enjoy the weight being lifted off of our shoulders and to take a deep breath.

Until next time,

Tanya

Good news! Tell Aiden to keep up the good work and give him a hug from those of us who have come to love this brave little guy.

    Tanya -
Aiden obviously gets his courageous spirit from his momma. I have been following Aiden's positive progress since you first started your blog and have you guys frequently in my prayers and in my thoughts. Please know that even the strongest of moms, to be strong for their families, need a break and some time just for themselves. Remember what Aiden' s prayer warriors are here for - to help you carry this tremendous load! Although I never get tired of seeing Aiden's adorable face, your prayer warriors will NEVER forget and NEVER stop, even when the updates have. You guys are amazing. Congrats on the great news!
