The Final Word on Aidan’s March 29th MRI - April 9, 2007

Aidan's Angels,

Tanya Spoke with Cory Hoeppner (Aidan’s Nurse Practitioner) and she told Tanya that Aidan’s March 29th MRI was not presented to the Tumor Board for review.  Because Cory and the Doctors were out of town at the PBTC symposium, they were backlogged with 13 MRI’s when they returned.  Apparently Aidan is doing so very well, the review of his MRI was not a priority.  Cory also told Tanya that nothing has changed as far as the Doctors opinion that Aidan’s tumor is experiencing some degree of necrosis.  This was obviously very encouraging news and we were all overjoyed with what we had heard.

In addition to the good news about Aidan, Cory also said the Doctors have had some fairly good news relative to the Iressa trial Aidan is participating in.  She said two children are on course 21 of the chemo (approaching 2 years), and “double figures” of the children are either just beyond a year or are quickly approaching one year.  This may not sound like much, but considering the odds of even reaching one year with this diagnosis, you can understand the significance of these very preliminary results.  This further solidifies are confidence that something very special is happening for Aidan, and we are truly grateful for all the prayers that are making it possible.

Speaking of the 1 year milestone…  Aidan will reach this significant anniversary next Saturday on April 14th.  Our current plans are to gather as a family and give thanks for the blessing that is Aidan, and to request that our God allow him many more anniversaries to follow.  Please join us in marking this very important date by leaving Aidan a message on his website Guestbook.  He and his family have enjoyed the hundred or so messages he has already received, and we are sure he would like to hear from you also.

Thanks for being there, and thanks for all your continuing prayers,

Papa Hammack
