May 10th MRI Results & More - May 14, 2007
Aidan's Angels,
There certainly is a lot to tell you about, but most importantly is the results of Aidan’s MRI on Friday, May 10th. What we know for certain is that the Doctors were extremely pleased with the results. So much so that they sent a messenger down to the recovery room to tell Tanya she could not ask any questions, but the news was good! Nothing likes this has happened before so there was plenty of anticipation as to what exactly the news might be.
When it was all said and done it appears the Doctors believe that necrosis of the tumor cells is continuing and Aidan may be in the process of sloughing off dead cells. This awesome news was followed up with the news that the minimal swelling that had been apparent from the beginning now appears to be receding. The size of the tumor itself remains “stable”, and when compared to the very first post radiation MRI, the tumor has certainly not gotten any larger, and may indeed be somewhat smaller. All this, combined with the fact that Aidan is 100% symptom free, and you almost have to believe that a miracle is indeed in progress!
As far as what else has been going on...
Aidan had his Make-A-Wish trip to Blizzard Beach in Florida and he enjoyed it tremendously. Cath (Nanni) will be working on a video so you all can share in his wonderful Make-A-Wish dream. When it is completed we will put it up on Aidan’s website.
When Aidan returned home he was fortunate to be able to lead the “Survivors” opening lap in the local Relay for Life. He enjoyed it greatly, and it was a very moving experience for those of us that had prayed so hard for his wellbeing. I can’t tell you how moved I was to see my 5 year-old grandson wearing a purple t-shirt with big bold letter s spelling out “survivor”, and leading the pack with all the enthusiasm and agility of any normal kid his age.
Last but not least… Aidan’s Momma Tanya was featured in the Tri-City Herald on Mothers Day. The paper was looking for unique and inspiring moms, and Tanya’s story and how she has handled it certainly fit that description. In addition to the article in the Sunday paper, the Tri-City Herald also created a slide show that features the seven mothers that were chosen for the piece. We are working to get the okay to have the article and slide show on Aidan’s website, but until we get that permission, you can view the article on the Tri=City Herald website here:

And you can view the very impressive slideshow on the Tri-City Herald web site here:

Thanks for being there, and thanks for all your prayers that are making all this possible,

Miracles Happen Everyday... Why Not Aidan?

I am so happy for you receiving such good news. That is great that Aiden doesn't exhibit any symptoms too.
I hope he continues to beat this.
Love, Gina (Brooke's mom)
I'm happy that the MRI is stable. That's great he has still no symptom. Does he continue same treatment?
Best regards.
Laurence, Anne-Sophie's mum.
