Just Letting you Know All Is Going Well - June 21, 2007

Aidan's Angels,

Our apologies for not posting more frequently and bringing you all up to speed with Aidan’s progress.  Take the lack of postings as a very very good sign.  Aidan’s progress is so very good that his family is using the time to return their lives to some degree of normalcy.  Needless to say, posting to the web about how your son is dealing with brain cancer is not really all that normal, so that is the reason for the lack of updates.

What we want you all to know is your prayers are working, Aidan is doing just fine, and God continues to bless the Zaugg’s family.  Mike is back to work fulltime with a wonderfully secure job that does not require him to leave his family, Sage continues to be a shining example of what God intended a Big Brother to be, and Tanya continues her very importnat work of being Aidan's nurse, chef, teacher, friend, and loving mother.

Just to ensure full disclosure and make sure you are totally up to date… there has been one small blip on Aidan’s progress chart and that has now resolved itself completely.  During Aidan’s last Seattle appointment they did his normal blood work up.  When the results came back, Aidan’s platelet count had slipped to 80, and the Doctors begin to get concerned when it goes below 100.  The continual slippage in his count has been present for a very long time, but never before had it dipped below the “worry” line.  All are in agreement that the count slippage is due to the chemo and means nothing as far as cancer progression or anything like that.  The good news, Aidan was checked locally only one week later, and believe it or not, his count had risen to 210!  We are convinced this slight blip was nothing, and we are further convinced his immediate and complete recovery is another in the continuing miracles that Aidan has  received.

Know your prayers are doing as you had intended, and know that Aidan and his entire family are forever grateful for your continuing support.

What good news! I would like to know if Aidan is taking adjuvant therapy together with Iressa. Anne-Sophie is in the same condition, she was not perfect last month because of infection, she recovered, she will have her MRI on july 2nd, please pray that it remains stable.

    Best wishes.
    Laurence.
