Update & Pending MRI Prayer Request - October 16, 2007

Yes it has been a very long time since we last posted. The good news is the reasoning was because there has been no significant news, and our family is moving towards some degree of normalcy. Considering the statistics for this monster, the fact our family is seeking normalcy is very good news indeed. Aidan continues to do well in every regard. He plays as hard as any 6 year-old boy would be expected to do, and he continues to have unending charm and an unbelievable since of humor.

Since our last posting Aidan has entered Badger Mountain Elementary in Richland as a very proud and dedicated kindergartner. He very much enjoys his classmates, all the opportunity for learning, and much like his older brother Sage, he seems to do very well with both. It has been a joy to see his excitement and hear his regular updates from the classroom. The school has considered Aidan’s diagnosis and has been extremely accommodating to all his less then usual needs. Other then a one week period where Aidan had a bad cold, he is attending regularly and lovin every minute of it.

The cold Aidan had did provide us one and only one period of concern since our last posting. There was a day about two weeks ago where Aidan told Tanya he was seeing two Mommies. Well you can only imagine the tremendous amount of fear that Tanya immediately experienced. Tanya called and I returned home from work to check it out for myself. I spent approximately four hours watching Aidan very closely and only once did he mention the problem again. Tanya dutifully called Seattle Childrens to get their take on the situation. Tanya was reminded

that Aidan was slightly symptomatic with previous colds and it is not surprising that he would be with this cold also. She was reminded that although stable, the tumor is still there. Simply being there it is taking up some space that would normally be available for minimal swelling from other causes. Well, the cold went away and so did the symptom.

It has now been 12 weeks since Aidan’s last MRI. As is the established protocol, Aidan has been scheduled for his next MRI on Friday the October 19. Even though we remain confident that this MRI will again confirm for us that something very special is taking place for Aidan, we ask that you remember him in your prayers on Friday. Give thanks to our God for the miracles he has already provided, and request that our lord allow these miracles to continue for a great deal of time to come

Thank you so very much for all you do for Aidan,

Aidan’s “Papa”
